Nurture Lactation Support provides in-home breastfeeding consultations in the Idaho Falls and Pocatello areas.

What happens during a consultation?

  • Birth and feeding history are discussed
  • Feeding position and latch are assessed
  • Suck is evaluated for strength and range of motion
  • A customized plan of care is developed 
  • A follow-up contact is made within 48 hours

How long is an appointment?

The initial one-on-one consultation usually runs about 1-1.5 hours. Follow-up appointments generally run 1 hour. We review how your care plan is working for your family and re-assess any feeding concerns that you may have. Phone/email follow up is included and encouraged. Generally appointments are done in person however Skype, phone or email can also be used (pricing is the same).

What do I need to have ready for my appointment?

You are encouraged to have: your list of questions and concerns, any feeding tools being used, your pump, any supplemental infant food/ fortifier if needed, a sling or wrap for baby wearing if desired, any feeding/diaper diaries you have been keeping track of, etc.

Payment

– Payment for co-pay or full payment, if applicable, is due at the time of service. Check, cash and PayPal are accepted.  A $25 deposit is required, which will be credited towards the cost of the consultation.

– Insurance – Many insurance companies cover our services. Nurture Lactation Support is currently credentialed and able to bill several Idaho insurances for services. Each policy is different. Please call us to discuss this option and call your insurance to verify cost with your policy. Some families also choose to use funds from their pre-tax medical spending accounts to cover our services. Please check with your plan or account provider to see what options you may have.

Scheduling and Cancellation policy: We understand that life with baby can be unpredictable. We strive to arrange your appointment at an optimal time range when your baby will be feeding. We also have many moms waiting to see us urgently. If you need to make a schedule change, let us know asap so we can ideally help another family out sooner!
